All our lessons have a maximum of 6 or 8 children per 30-minute class. We provide two qualified Swim England teachers who will be in the pool with each group.
All classes are priced at 10£ per 30 minutes.
Payments are taken on a half-termly basis (every 6-8 weeks) via Go Cardless, this system is run by us so if you would like to change the date the amount is debited from your account please ping us an email. You will receive emails from Go Cardless stating when you will be charged.
We will be asking all students to wear a swimming hat and goggles if preferred (we recommend investing in a good pair of goggles for the start of the term).
No, the groups tend to progress as a whole. If any student, in particular, has overtaken the other swimmers’ progress the teacher will suggest a more appropriate day/time.
Hopefully you won't need to anytime soon! However, if you do ever need to cancel your swimming lessons you MUST let us know 2 weeks before term starts. You cannot cancel in the middle of a term.
Unfortunately we don't offer any catch-up sessions. If you have to miss a lesson due to illness or prior plans this isn't a problem, if you are missing more than one week please let either the teacher know or email us.
For any general questions or queries please email Lorraine at info@iswimsuffolk.co.uk for any urgent matters please call 07554646559.
Parents are more than welcome to watch the first and last 5 minutes of each lesson, however, in between, we ask parents to wait in the waiting area. This is to keep noise levels poolside as low as possible to help the children concentrate and allow the teacher to keep their attention at all times to maximise learning!
We know that every swimmer has a parent who is worried about their child’s well-being and, naturally, their loved one’s safety during swimming lessons. Often, this natural concern means that we get requests from parents to be present during swimming.
Limiting the time of parents on the poolside might seem restrictive, but it improves the safety of the swimming environment and we want to reassure you that your child is in the safest environment possible.
When parents are present at the pool and the lesson is underway, children often will look to their parents instinctively for instruction. This slows down their first steps in building trust with our teachers. Trust is so important as it allows children to relax in the pool and it makes them more willing to listen to the instructor and progress with their swimming. We always have fully trained teachers with rescue qualifications.
The absence of their parents by the pool also gives children the chance to interact more with their swimming teacher and to be less distracted in general as they learn to swim. It also prevents the parents from disrupting the lesson by accident. This speeds up their progression.
When our children are in the water we focus our attention fully on them. Unfortunately, it would be very hard for us if we had to make sure that parents, siblings, or others that have come along to watch the swimming lesson are also safe.
